Day 1 – 12/01/2015
This was the first weights session of the year. I haven’t trained with weights (other than in group fitness classes) for about 4-5 months so I was a little bit hesitant. My goal with this session is to fire up my glutes and work on building them up.
Exercises – 45 Minutes
a. Squats – 16 / 12 / 8 + 16
a. Box Jumps – 45 seconds
b. Hip Bridges – 16 / 12 / 8 + 16
b. CrossFit Sit-ups – 45 seconds
c. Leg Press (low and wide) – 16 / 12 / 8 + 16
c. Squat Jumps with Bench – 45 seconds
d. Calf Raises (standing) – 20 / 16 / 12
d. Calf Raises (seated) – 20
d. Bicycle Crunches – 45 seconds
The structure of the session involved supersets, with each letter representing a respective superset, and ideally minimal rest in between each set.
My food and timing of meals for this first week will take some getting used to. I know what I should be eating, how I should be eating and when I should be eating but I just have to work it back into my life. I am hoping that by next week I will be diarising my meals and timings.
It felt good to be back in the gym and doing something. I am determined to reach my training goals and get balance back into my life.
